With the arrival of Ultra Air, the ‘low-cost’ airline, ticket prices have been reduced on average, 13% for the main cities, as stated in a report by Viajala, a flight search engine.
Thus, this platform revealed that the average price of round trips from Bogotá to Medellín, practiced in March, (after the launch of Ultra Air sales) by other airlines and agencies has fallen by 13% (from $225,000 to $196,000), compared to the months of January and February.
On the other hand, the average price of flights from Bogota to Cali has fallen by 7% in the last 2 weeks, compared to the first months of 2022.
In the beach category, flights to Santa Marta are 8% cheaper now than in the first two months of the year, and 14% cheaper compared to November and December 2021 ($320,000 to $275,000).
In this regard, the commercial director of Viajala, Romain Maciejewski, pointed out that the market is becoming much more dynamic and powerful. “ Some time ago, Bogotá was almost the only hub in the country. To travel from point A to point B, you almost always had to connect with the capital, now there are more direct flights ”, he said.
