Withings today announced the introduction of a new smart scale, the Body Scan, which can take all kinds of health-related measurements. It monitors the segmental body composition, weight, heart rate, and age of blood vessels and can assess nerve activity and heart rhythm using a 6-lead EKG.
Withings Introduces New “Body Scan Smart Scale”
Body Scan has a tempered glass platform with a retractable handle. It is equipped with four weight sensors and 14 ITP electrodes, and four stainless steel electrodes on the handle for ECG and body composition analysis. A built-in battery lasts for a year before it needs to be charged, and health information is displayed on a 3.2-inch color LCD screen.
According to Withings, in addition to multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis to measure total body composition, the Body Scan scale can provide accurate weight measurements and measurements of body fat, water percentage, visceral fat, muscle mass, and bone mass, and extracellular and water.
Intracellular
It can also provide readings for body parts such as the torso, arms, and legs. The Body Scan can track the activity of the sweat glands in the feet and provides a daily assessment of the activity of small nerves and the determination of the age of the vessels through cardiovascular measurements to give users an idea of your arterial health. The Body Scan can detect arrhythmias using two electrodes on each side of the handle and one at the bottom of the scale for the EKG function.
Withings combines the health monitoring features of Body Scan with access to training, clinical specialists, and holistic plans to achieve health goals through Withings’ health and wellness programs, including a free three-month subscription.
Withings plans to launch the Body Scan scale in the second half of 2022 following FDA approval. It will cost $ 299.95.
