Game of Thrones Season 8 Director Opens Up About Shooting Fake Scenes and “Gestapo” Levels of Security. The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is kept under absolute secrecy and is that since HBO has been responsible for it. This has been revealed by director David Nutter, pointing out that this year’s production has reached safety at the level of the “Gestapo”.

“Well, sometimes there were paparazzi in amazing places, on construction cranes and in all kinds of crazy places, to try to get a look, ” Nutter said in an interview with the Huffington Post. “They were everywhere, everywhere, trying to know what was happening.”

“It was a situation where there were no roles on the set, that kind of thing,” he continued. “They wanted to make sure nobody knew what was happening, basically, they took it to a point where it looked like the Gestapo, it was difficult to get answers,” he said.

Still, Nutter is one of the privileged who knows all about the end of the series of David Benioff and DB “Oh, yes, of course,” confirmed Nutter when asked if he knew what scenes of the shooting will not reach the final assembly.

Already last July, the actress Sophie Turner revealed some of the tricks that used in the shooting to keep the secret safe. Speaking to Digital Spy, Turner detailed such measures, such as the use of false names for the actors or even randomly changing the names of the characters. These change daily, so it was impossible – even for the actress herself – to know who she was going to shoot with until the same day.

Still, the actress acknowledged that it was useless to follow so many security measures, ensuring that she is a “loudmouth”, as she admitted to having revealed some details about the new season during the end of filming party.

For the moment, it seems that the security measures are paying off and there are hardly any details about the future of Poniente. The eighth and final season of the series will not be released until April 2019.
