Chris Evans Is Not Over With Captain America: For several months now, rumors have been that Avengers 4 will be the last film by Chris Evans as Captain America. The actor’s contract with Marvel is over, but, according to the Russo brothers, there may be life for Steve Rogers beyond the next film.
Evans caused a big uproar on Twitter when he posted a message in which he said goodbye to Captain America. Although the actor later explained that this did not mean he was going to die in Avengers 4, fans quickly began to speculate about Rogers’ fate.
In a recent interview with USA Today, Joe Russo hinted that the fate of the actor and the character may be more linked than the fans expect. “I think it has been more emotional for him than for us because he has not finished yet,” said the director.
“I’m not going to explain what this means, but the fans will soon understand what I’m talking about,” he added mysteriously. The words of Joe Russo may mean that there is hope for Evans after the fight against Thanos, but the director may also be referring to a possible participation of Evans in the series of the Winter Soldier that is preparing Disney.
Evans has expressed several times his desire to leave acting for a while to dedicate himself to directing. The actor made his directorial debut in 2014 with Before You Go, so his return to Marvel could go down those paths, instead of future appearances by Steve Rogers.
To discover what the destiny of Captain America, and the rest of the Marvel Universe, will have to wait until May 3, 2019, the date of the premiere planned for Avengers 4.
