IPL 2019 can be organized a week or two and it is likely to start from March 23.
There have been 11 seasons of IPL and the process of the trading window is going on for the new season. While looking at the ICC World Cup in England 2019 next year, Indian captain Virat Kohli has advised the bowlers, especially Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah, to rest in front of the COA so that they can be up for this special mission. However, it is also discussed that considering the World Cup, the upcoming IPL season can be started a week or two.
According to the website Cricinfo, due to the advice of team management to rest before the World Cup, IPL 2019 can be organized a week or two and it is likely to start from March 23. However, no official announcement has been made so far. By the way, the Cricket World Cup 2019 starts on May 30 and India has to play its first game on June 5. Not only that, it will be the first time in the history of the IPL that the tournament will start in March.
Let us tell you that Captain Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri had recently advised the Co-Board of Administrators to keep fast bowlers away from the IPL 2019. Apart from Hyderabad, in this meeting held in Delhi, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane and team’s chief selector MSK Prasad also participated.
One reason too?
Recently, several media reports claimed that Cricket Australia and England and Wales Cricket Board have told the BCCI that its players will be available in the IPL only till May 1st. South African players are also likely to be available till May 12. For this reason, a decision can be taken to get the IPL first, so that world-class players can join it and franchises do not have any damage.
Not only this, the auction for the IPL in 2019 can be held in Jaipur on 17 and 18 December this year and the franchise has also been informed about this. However, there is a possibility that the entire tournament or part of the IPL may be held in either UAE or South Africa due to the general elections next year. After all, BCCI has to have Plan B on the IPL.
Everyone knows that in 2014 due to the Lok Sabha elections, half the IPL tournament was held in the UAE. While India took over the responsibility of hosting the rest of the tournament. Not only that, due to the LS elections in 2009, the entire tournament was held in South Africa.
