It is a must visit the Doge’s Palace, the seat of the city government for centuries. Highlights in it are spaces such as the Scala d’Oro, the Apartment del Duque and the Maggior Consiglio room.

And you can also visit the prison and cross the Bridge of Sighs. And you know that the latter is named after the sighs of the prisoners who went from the palace to prison. From their windows, they saw the sunlight for the last time.

Afterward, also in the same square, you have to visit the famous Basilica of San Marcos. The mosaics of its main dome or the Pala d’Oro, a magnificent work of goldsmithing, will leave you speechless. In addition, you must climb the terraces to enjoy one of the best views of the city.

You also have to climb the Campanile, the most famous bell tower and where all the tourists want to take a picture. Do not miss it either!

The Campanile is the tallest building in Venice, almost one hundred meters high. It collapsed in 1902, but ten years later it would be rebuilt faithfully.
