In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Dean Deblois has confirmed that the film How to Train Your Dragon 3 Movie will mark the conclusion of the entire animated franchise of Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Animation, including its television spin-offs.

“We’ve been thinking about it for a long time and we think that, although it’s a bittersweet way of saying goodbye to these characters, it’s the right way, “ said DeBlois. “You will understand what Hippo [the protagonist] says in the trailer: ‘There were dragons when I was a child.’ At the end of the film, we will have answered the question of what could have happened to them.”

At the culmination of the franchise, what began as the unexpected friendship between a young Viking and a fearsome Dragon Night Fury has become an epic trilogy that has run their lives. In this new release, Hippo and Toothless will finally discover their true destiny: for one, to govern Isla Mema next to Astrid; for the other, to be the leader of his species. But, on the way, they must test the bonds that bind them, facing the greatest threat they have ever faced … and the appearance of a female Night Fury.
As a curiosity, it should be said that ‘ How to train your dragon ‘ premiered in 2010 through Paramount Pictures, while ‘ How to train your dragon 2 ‘ did it in 2014 through 20th Century Fox and ‘ How to train your dragon’ 3 ‘will do so through Universal Pictures on March 1, 2019.
The film features the original voices of Jay Baruchel, Kit Harington, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Kristen Wiig, Craig Ferguson, and F. Murray Abraham.
