The promotional poster for ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ has rejuvenated and thinned the actors … against their will.
All About the Controversy Over the Digital Retouching of Brad Pitt and Leonardo Dicaprio: Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is giving so much to talk about months before its premiere that it seems that it already has guaranteed success. The film, directed by Quentin Tarantino, is still in full shooting although a few weeks ago one of the first promotional images was unveiled with two of its (most beloved) stars, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. Characterized as their characters, with clothes and hairstyles of the late 70’s, they were impressive. What nobody had noticed is that in that image, distributed by Sony, there was a seemingly imperceptible digital touch-up on the actors. Look closely at Leo’s:

Yes, DiCaprio has been reduced double chin (chin, come on) to give it a slimmer and youthful appearance. In the case of Brad, who has a thinner build but is now almost 55 years old, he has slightly smoothed the wrinkles on his neck. Was necessary? Well, at least according to what Leo himself would say, NO: according to sources close to the star, he did not know that they were going to touch it up, nor had he asked for it.
In the age of social networks, digital retouching is the most common in the world. There are even people, like all members of the Kardashian klan, who abuse him almost every instant they post. However, not everyone wants to modify their anatomy to look younger, thinner or just another person, as is the case with Leo and Brad.
After it became known this use (unnecessary) of Photoshop Sony has distributed again this image of the actors without the retouching. And the difference is almost imperceptible. Does Pitt look like an old man for having those little wrinkles on his neck? What’s more, do they even look bad? The same can be said of DiCaprio’s double chin, which has never presumed to be a fitness fan.

Leo DiCaprio & Brad Pitt há mais de 20 anos atrás, e agora, juntos novamente, para o novo longa de Quentin Tarantino, "Era uma Vez em Hollywood". Melhores ou piores? If Brad Pitt turns 55 in December, Leonardo DiCaprio will reach 44 in November. Neither is a teenager or pretend to be; the characters that play in this film are not either. That they disagree with this digital ’embellishment’ is a breath of fresh air in that artificial Hollywood that only wants eternally young and unreal stars. Yes, and this trend that affects especially the female sex is also popular among men.
This case reminds us of Elizabeth Olsen, who got very public when she did not even recognize herself because of the touch-up her face received for a promotional image. What if the Mecca of cinema begins to embrace reality, for once in your life?
