The Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games Torch Will Be Welcomed by Combat Aircraft in Riau: Four fighter jets from Squadron 12 and 16 Air Base Roesmin Nurjadin are prepared to welcome the 2018 Asian Games torch flame which is scheduled to arrive in Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, Wednesday, August 1, 2018.
“Our fighter planes will escort the arrival of the Asian Games Torch from Silangit, North Sumatra,” said Chief of Information for Roesmin Nurud Nurudin, Major Sus Rindar told Antara in Pekanbaru on Tuesday.
He explained, later the torch relay of the 2018 Asian Games torch relay was flown from Silangit International Airport, North Sumatra using the Air Force’s C-130 Hercules Aircraft.
From North Sumatra, the aircraft will fly to Riau Province by being escorted directly by two F16 Fighting Falcon and Hawk 100/200 fighter jets.
Upon arrival in Pekanbaru, Api Obor will be welcomed directly by Roesmin Air Base Commander Nurjadin Colonel Pnb Ronny Irianto and the ranks of the one-level regional head of communication forum (Forkompinda) of Riau Province.
Separately, the Head of the Riau Province Youth and Sports Service, Doni Aprialdi, confirmed that the preparation for welcoming the Asian Games Torch was 100 percent.
Likewise, security on the highway by the Riau Regional Police is quite mature until the Pekanbaru City Government and Siak Regency are really ready to await the arrival of the Asian Games torch flame.
Riau Provincial Secretary (Sekdaprov) Ahmad Hijazi said the torch fire was scheduled to arrive in Pekanbaru on 1 August afternoon and would be welcomed at Roesmin Nurjadin Airport in Pekanbaru by the Governor of Riau and Forkopimda Riau.
“After that, the fire will go to Siak until night. When we are there we leave it entirely for its activities by the local government,” he said.
Towards midnight the torch flame will return to Pekanbaru to stay overnight at the Jalan Gajah Mada Regional Building before leaving for Puncak Lawang, Bukittinggi, West Sumatra Thursday (2/8).
Riau is the 27th line that is passed by the 2018 Asian Games torch fire after starting on July 15, 2018, from Delhi India, and on the 18th track entering the province in Indonesia.
