The number of the deceased could rise since so far there are 4 people who are missing and the authorities maintain the search
Police have found two new bodies of passengers of the tourist boat that sank yesterday in Lake Table Rock, so the number of deaths amounts to seventeen, while four others remain missing, said the governor of the state from Missouri, Mike Parson.
According to Parson, it was the agents of the State Highway Police who found the bodies during the search tasks started on Thursday, shortly after the boat overturned due to the force of the wind.
Of the 31 passengers traveling on the tourist attraction at the time of the incident, 14 managed to get to safety.
After the recovery of these two last bodies, the authorities continue with the search for the 4 missing persons.
In some images recorded yesterday by a witness and that was widely disseminated by the media this Friday, you can see how the boat, just minutes before the shipwreck, barely remains afloat before the onslaught of the waves caused by the storm.
The boat, an amphibious vehicle, overturned and sank around 7.10 pm local time (00.10 GMT Friday) due to strong winds that hit the area of Branson (Missouri), from where it sailed.
The tourist amphibians are replicas of DUKW military vehicles, which can travel on land and navigate in water.
