Greek Yogurt Lemon Chicken | Ingredients (Chicken Cooked in Yogurt)

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, low in fat
  • the juice of a 1/2 lemon
  • 1 C. lemon zest
  • 1 C. tablespoon of olive oil
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 C. paprika
  • 1 C. teas of Provence herbs
  • 1 C. salt
  • 1 C. ground black pepper
  • 1 5 lb. chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, low in fat
  • 1 C. lemon juice
  • 1 C. harissa
  • A pinch of salt

  • Whisk together 1/2 cup yogurt, juice of 1/2 lemon, lemon zest, olive oil, garlic, paprika, herbes de Provence, 1 tbsp. salt and pepper; transfer to a large resealable Ziploc bag and add chicken pieces; seal, stir and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
  • Preheat the barbecue over medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill.
  • In a small bowl, whisk 1/2 cup yogurt with 1 tbsp. lemon juice and harissa; book.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade and transfer to a sheet of paper lined with paper towels; squeeze the chicken pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  • Cook the chicken on the hot rack for about 2 minutes, skin side down. Turn the chicken pieces on the other side and place on indirect heat. Continue cooking by turning the pieces of chicken occasionally, until it is no longer pink at its center, about 30-35 minutes in total. A meat thermometer should indicate at least 180 ° F (82 ° C).
  • Serve the chicken with the harissa yogurt mixture.
