Florida judge sentenced a fourth young man involved in the beating death and sodomization of a man in the city of Lakeland in the center of the state to life imprisonment in January 2016, a local media reported on Tuesday.

Brian Johnson, 25, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Robert Banks, 31, who was previously sodomized with a flashlight and his body burned in a wooded area, the newspaper The Ledger reported.

The authorities had brought murder charges against Johnson, her two brothers and another young man for the death of Banks, whose mother accused her of raping her.

Last August, his brother Nathan Johnson, who had the day of the crime 16 years, was sentenced to 75 years in prison for his involvement in the murder of Banks.

Anthony Johnson, 22, the third brother, and Michael Allen Gunn, 27, a friend of theirs, had already been sentenced to life imprisonment in separate trials for the crime of first-degree murder.

At trial, the prosecution presented as evidence photos taken from the brothers’ mobile phone showing “Bloody Banks after being sodomized with a long-body flashlight.”

A jury had found them guilty of the crimes of “murder, sexual assault, alteration of physical evidence and abuse of a dead human body”.

The defendants lured Banks to the Johnsons’ house in Lakeland under the pretext of a drug-related business and, once he was there, they beat him to death, even though Banks denied the rape allegations.
